I almost feel like calling troll on this one but just incase you are asking a serious question;

Bike insurance is more than car insurance, especially if you look at sport bikes. You can't consider anything with a R (i.e. ZX-6R, R6, CBR, GSX-R, etc) without thinking about paying $3k - $6k/yr in insurance (even heard of $10k-$12k rates for young riders), depending on your age.

If you're really new then be careful as riding in the city is dangerous and you need to be pretty mellow to ride almost any bike (throttle self control). That being said if you really have your heart set on a bike then consider Kawi ex500, Suzuki GS500, Suzuki SV650 and I really like the Kawi Ninja 250. Some older bikes are also good, really anything below 600cc's without a sport bike rating should be reasonable.

Even with the above suggested bikes you should expect to pay $1500-$3k depending on age.

Good luck, and I suggest you keep with the cars until you get comfortable with traffic and dealing with other drivers.

P.S. Feel free to sign up on www.gtamotorcycle.com to talk to experienced riders and get additional advice. Plus good site to buy your ride.
