what is the biggest bike I can ride with a full drivers licence

and CBT? I was under the impression that I could ride up to 125cc with a full drivers licence and a CBT, but I have recently been told differently!

Thats exactly right, 125 cc max. You need to take a direct access course next to ride anything above that.

Scsparky 07-10-2007 07:17 AM

ok...at 16 with a CBT you can ride up to 50ccover 17 with a CBT you can ride up to 125ccyour full car license makes no difference to this at all.(alsounder 21 if you pass your test you are resitricted to 33bhpover 21 when you pass allowed you to ride anything)

silconbob 07-10-2007 08:05 AM

It's been a LONG time since I was on L-plates, but I think the law is still the same: You can ride a 125cc with up to 12hp (or is it 13hp?) when you have passed your CBT part 1 (on L plates). Personally I would but a trailie if you aren't planning to ride any great distance; they are hideously uncomfortable but you can have a lot of fun on them even at low speeds. You'll have to check the details on the DVLA website.at any rate, you can't ride a full powered bike until you have a full motorcycle license and are over 21 years of age.
