Why are my batteries going bad after setting over the winter?
I have several batteries in ATV's, motorcycles, ect. that sit over the winter months and come spring time they are no good.. What can I do to save them from this fate without being labor intensive ?
Remove them from the vehicles and store them in your basement. Put them on wood or the cement or dirt floor will drain them. It's not hard to remove them. Plus it's cheaper than replacing year after year.
either ride them during the winter to charge the battery or simply buy a battery charger and leave it plugged in all the time the batteries are going dead because they aren't being charged its just like not driving a car for a really long amount of time without hooking it up to a battery tender. hope that helps
