240sx Tansmission

Hey guys,
Im looking for a low mileage 240sx (fs5w71c) transmssion, the only ones i have found at junk yards have 150+km's, so I started to call JDM places but none seems to have any 5-speed transmssions. any ideas?
Thanks

best place to search would be Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market or hav yors rebuilt since they are older cars its hard to find low km transmissions

I would just stick with the ones you get from the junk yard. If you can get them for cheap prices and do the installation yourself then its better that way then trying to find a near new and 100% healthy one. If you feel comfortable pick up a service manual and try rebuilding it.
Goodluck

You might want to also try (son 240 sx .ca) in the classifieds section.

Just rebuild one. Its probably easier then to find one. See if anyone is selling a tranny off of their SR20DEt motorsets, you can use those as well.

you can not use the sr20det transmissions, you can swap the internals though. You have to use the bellhousing for the specified engine. If you were thinking along the lines of that then that may be a good option for him to find a low mileage gearing. To be honest i find it too much work to find a low low mileage one when you can swap in a used one and take the chance for a cheap price.

Yea, same tranny, just swap the bellhousing. Just get it rebuilt. I'm using a KA
tranny on my SR.

dont bother calling JDM shops for a Ka transmission - the KA was only available in Canada and US .. Not japan .. Hence the transmissions they sell are sourced mainly from Junkyards themselves.
