240sx worth it?
 
whatsup guys, im looking to buy my first car, need some advice.

Theres a 240SX for sale sitting around my area and i called the number for that car (was on a for sale sign)

It's a 91 240SX, 150 xxx kms, thumbnail rust on front right wheel well, everything else stock, supposedly cat-back performance exaust.

5 spd.

what do you guys think?

any advice on checking the "supposed cat-back performance exaust"?
anything on checkin if the odometer has been "rolled back"?

owner was askin for 1600 obo
any tips on checking frame rust? thanks.

91 with 150,xxx .. seems sketcky

check the UVIP .. if it has like more then 2 owners then its prolly been rolled back for sure or maybe it stopped working for a bit

oh man , check frame rails, under wing (if so equipt) quater panels, and floor for rust!

the seller of a car - is supposed to provide a uvip ( used vehicle inspection package ) to the buyer .

its like $30 at any ministry of transportation office.

u need to give them the Vin number to get the uvip

go check it out usually the drivers side frame rail would be rusted near the firewall where it bends. and check the floor on the drivers side aswell. but yeah convince the seller to sell for like 1500 or less and if the body is in good condition, just grab a sr and swap the stock motor out. and if the motor does have 160k on it just turbo it.
