sr20det in a b15 sentra....can it be done?

+I have a 2001 Sentra with an sr20de motor (SE). I was wondering if anyone has done the sr20det swap before, and if i could use the sr20de transaxle with the sr20det block?

if anyone has info on this swap, pls let me know what i'm in for and what to expect.......thnx

the SR20DE transaxle is compatible with the FWD SR20DET.

Everything will bolt in, but thats about it. THere is alot of wiring that has to be done to make this swap functional. Also, you will need to re-do the exhaust from the turbo hotside to your factory exuast if you wish to retain your old exhaust. Hower it is well advised that you scrap your old exhaust in favour of a 3-inch setup, or at the very least a 2.5.

PM me if you need more info

Im not sure if there are engine mounts for the newer ones, just build up your b15, probably better bang for your buck, but then again i dont know what your buck is like. lol. GL with your choice though!

Thanx too all for repling. The b15 has 230 000kms on already, so their is no p[oint in building it up.

To flashpoint.... what is the FWD SR20DET from? Is it from the GTI-R? And yeah, I was going with the 3" exhaust. I was expecting to do some wiring and the computer as well. No surpises. But if you can tell some heads up stuff, that be great.

Depends, the japanese version comes from the gtr but the american version comes from a number of cars one being the nissan NX2000. I just moved here so i can't tell you where to get anything. If you have anymore questions pm me.

On the DET, you'll need to cut some of the engine "braces" that are moulded right into the block or you won't clear the cross member.

You'll also need an intercooler + piping as well as an ECU.

Putting in a higher flowing fuel pump wouldn't hurt either.
