i'm planning on doin sr20det engine swap but want better top speed outta my tranny just wondering if theres any where that i could a 5th gear cut higher top speed thanx alot

You could just throw on the LSD from a 300ZX or a J30.
The final drive ratio in them is lower than the stock 240sx so you'll have higher top speed in every gear.

If it's FWD then you might need a custom setup, I can't think of any cars that you could swap the tranny or the diff with for an SR.

If its a FWD, you can do what my friend did with his sentra (sr20det) and grab a transmission from an infinity g20 (lsd too), I believe the older ser sentra's also had an sr20de, so u could grab one of those transmissions as well, IF you're going with a FWD setup.

The gearing in those trannys are identical though so there'd be no advantage to switching to them specifically.
(to clarify "no advantage" I realize you need a FWD tranny from an SR when you swap to SR20DET because the stock one is AWD, the guy is asking about making his gears have a higher top speed though not what tranny does he need for the swap)
