The correct way to parallel park a Honda CRV?

Ok so I have one of these cars:: http://images.motortrend.com/roadtes...right_view.jpg

And I've been told so many ways to parallel park by family and friends, that I'm just confused at this point.

My mom says that I have to line up the second door at the rear of a car (or the front cones). While my friend states that I should line up the front cones with the back side window.

Then I hear that I should just line up the car's rear bumper with the front cone. Apparently this procedure is the most used and seems like the correct one.

So . . .exactly what should I do?

I learned it like this:

Bumper - Bumper

Wheel-Bumper

Bumper-Bumper

This is how it works....pull up beside the parked car. When your rear bumper is in-line with his rear bumper, turn your wheel 1/4 turn to the right and back up until your Wheel is even with his rear bumper...then give it another 1/4 turn, and continue to back up. When your FRONT bumper gets even with his REAR bumper, turn the wheel 1/4 turn to the left as you smoothly back in to the parking space.
