Honda Element windshield replaced? Wait 24 hrs???

My Element needs a new windshield due to a large crack. Honda dealership said that I would have to leave it for 24 hrs after windshield was replaced for sealant to cure. Isn't that an awfully long time to wait? Does anyone know the reasoning behind such a long delay? Others I have spoken to, said 2-6 hours is usually sufficient.

The curing process will insure a proper seal to prevent any future leaks and damage. The process will normally take 48-72 hours to fully cure. You should avoid driving within the first 24 hours.

never heard such a thing i have had numerous windshields replaced and all they tell you is to not close up your windows tight leave a crack so when you close the door the pressure doesn't bother the seal but never have i been told to wait and never have i had a problem.

Mine had replaced and only waited for about 2 and a half hours. Your dealership is full of bullshit.
