T-Top Conversion 'Kits'...

Does anyone know a good place to get a nice 'kit' for this. Since I think I may have decided against candy paints for Mayhem(but I'm not sure, just can't make up my mind), I may have some extra cash, and I've been seriously considering this.

lol... seriously, maybe you should try doing it yourself... about a year ago i saw a walkthrough, and the finished product was AWESOME... just would take a lOT of time... and possibly money.

I thought about it, but I dont think I could ever take a sawzall to my roof hahah...

Ill see if I cant dig up that thread for you.

we are doing it ourselves, but we need the parts to do it, that's what I'm talking about when I say 'kit'. Jpack did it himself.

But like I said, its really whether I decide to get the candy paints for the car, or just pearl paints. I really want candy, but 2 things are making it hard for me to decide: 1.) the cost, and 2.) if it gets messed up, the whole car will have to be repainted, and than I'm back into the cost thing again. But the paints I've picked out are so beautiful... I don't know.

Some pics of my conversion. Did this right before Christmas. Was my gift to myself !

One thing I learned after doing the conversion. Cover the whole damn car inside and out!!! One thing nobody said on they'er converions !! The hot metal singed my seat covers and embedded little peices of metal in my paint (can't be seen in the pics, but up close... very noticable). I didn't see them till they rusted . I did wash the car after finishing it, but since they were "in the paint", washing it did nothing. So my next step is to have the whole car repainted. It needed it anyway, but now it's a must. I also need the weather stripping on the front window redone. Had I known it just pulled off soo easily, I would have left the metal strips on there and taken more precautions to keep it from coming off. But it's replacable thankfully, it just takes money.

Some pics of the "left overs" .

Rob
