Rear Hatch Release?

Im about to get one, and had a question the stock location for the button was in the glove box infront of the passenger, but is there a light in that box, i thought there was, and if there was could you splice into that lighting so that when you open the glove box power goes to that switch and the light and it would only have power to it when you open the box...because im debating whether to buy a stock button or just get a button from like radioshack and install it...

and if so, then what size bulb is that because i just went out there and felt a fixture if you want to call it that and there was nothing in it...i will try to snag a pic of it...

the reason some people have them in their glove box is because they have T-tops. If the hatch release is in the glove box you can lock it when the t-tops are off, so no one can pop your hatch and steal whatever is in your trunk (subs, amp, misc. stuff). I have t-tops and my release is in my glove box (there is no light that I can remember in their). I assume all hardtop models are not like this.

youre a dumbass. and yes, i AM trying to be mean. all 93-96 maros had the release in the glove box.

even going by your lame *** excuse, mine has t-tops and has the release under the steering wheel...so my t-tops might be at risk! oh no

do some research ***.

after looking at my hatch release, i realized it had a motor in it, so i opened the glove box and removed the cover that covered the hole, after tracing all the wires, they were all good, so i felt around and found a connector, so i pulled it out, and hooked it up to a pushbutton switch i bought to be prepared for the one i was going to buy, so i hooked it all up, and it worked so im happy now that i have that hooked up...

um...call me crazy...but i think its nothing but a switch that activates a relay that powers an actuator...no "motor".
