stock chevy 350 valve dimensions.

its been hard digging up the answer.

i'm looking to buy new valves for my gen 1 355, and i need to know the size. i thought 350s were 1.94 intake and 1.60 exhaust, but maybe thats the LT1. i went and measured the old ones and i came up with 1.75 intake and 1.50 exhaust.

this doesnt sound right to me, the exhaust, okay, but not the intake. my micrometer is at work so i had to use a tape measure, so its not entirely accurate, but i cant find anything close to 1.75 intake on summit or jegs.

anyone know for sure?

They should be 1.94 and 1.5, the typical upgraded sizes are 2.02 and 1.6.

You might be able to get the bigger ones since the price isn't much more if at all. Since you should be doin at least a 3-way valve job, it wouldn't be that much more to upgrade a little.

well i did some research with my head casting numbers this morning and finally found out. 3998991 has 1.72/1.50 valves with 75 cc chambers.

what do i need to do to upgrade to 1.94 intake or even 2.02/1.60 valves? do i just grind the seat bigger???

Those are pretty small valves... and I'm not completely sure, but more than likely you just need to have the seat ground out to accept the bigger valve seat..
