No more screen on my MAF, got rid of that sucker, a small noticable diff in accleration, other wise I always keep my filter clean so it shouldnt be a prob.

I would of kept it in, It doesnt add a bunch of horespower by removing it. Its ment to keep senor from getting hit by **** coming in the from the airbox. Id rather keep it than have to pay out the *** for a new MAF senor if gets messed up.

If something large enough gets through the air filter to mess up the sensor, you've got bigger problems then a new sensor... I've had my screen off for a year and know other who've had theirs off since the car was new.

Have you ever heard of someone breaking something due to no maf screen?

Lol...I didn't know it until a week ago, but apparently some time in my Camaro's life, the original owner descreened the MAF sensor because when I was putting my smooth bellow on last week, I happened to look at the MAF, and it was def w/o its screen. Wouldn't know if it made an improvement or not because it's been out since I bought the car obviously, but I wish it was still in there, just to be safe. I did do the !EGR mod tho.

Mine is descreened, a few people report rough idle, I don't see too much improvement except my gas mileage went from 23 average to 24

yea SLP recommends this as a free mod. So i asked around and found out it was safe, the SLP MAF comes with a screen it on or you can remove it, another company makes them with out screens and says its good for street use, my idle is fine and all of that, i made sure everything was ok after I removed it, car ran fine. Yea I never herd anyone getting something pass the filter to damage the MAF. Yup tomarrow = strut bar install, whoo hoo!

Well I can attest to the fact that mine has been descreened for the last 3k miles and I've had no problems yet.

Yea, but I def wouldn't pay $300+ for a Granatelli unless I was making some serious (600+) hp. I really don't think the Granatelli would even make much of a diff over a stock one that's descreened.
