Almost looks like someone purposely sheared it off, but then that doesnt explain the gashes from the rotor on the inside of the wheel, hmmm.

My guess would be that they sheared it off on the start line.

if he has a fwd vehicle ,perhaps he did that on a burn out? the wheel well would get the most damage? ...or is that the back "scratches head"?

From looking at the control arms, it kinda looks like a Civic/Integra.

I don't understand how the rear wheel would break and not the front wheel...
