Honda S2000 roof operation?

Honda S2000 roof operation?
The Honda S2000 manual says do not operate the roof with the engine running. Why is this? Is it purely safety or is there a technical reason?Just to add, the roof does not operate unless the handbreak is on therefore it cannot be operated while the car is moving.

I would re-read it. It probably states you should not operate the roof while the engine is running and the car is in motion. I used to sell Honda's and have always put the top down on an s2000 with the motor running.
