What's this whining noise in my car (2001 Honda Civic)?
It performs normally. Gear changes are smooth and proper. But it seems like when I get going over 40mph and when it goes into 4th gear it starts to sound like the RPMs are really high, but they're not. They hover around 2,000. When I'm doing 80 they hover around 3,000. Yet it's whining as if the RPMs are really high. It still pulls and accelerates normally. Theres just that noise.
A few weeks earlier I had a guy who changes my oil say that my transmission fluid was "overfull", like, there was too much. I have no idea why there would be too much, since I never touch it. I dunno if that has something to do with it. I know these cars can have transmission problems, but I'm too busy to visit a mechanic. Should I be worried about this?

I'm only 13, but I guess you could say im ok with cars. The problem could be that your fan belt needs to be replaced. You should take it into service to get it replaced. The fan belt is a stringy thing that spins around in the engine on a locked plane. I dont think you should worry about it too much. However, you should get it replaced. The car will act normally if you don't its just that it will make that whiny noise. Im not a proffesional mechanic, or an experienced adult.
