P0740 For Honda Civic 2001 EX?
I have a 2001 Honda Civic EX AT with at P0740 check engine code. Car is still running fine with no significant changes except for check engine light. Dealer recommended to replace transmission which would cost around $2600. Is this the only way to resolve this problem? was thinking of getting my transmission fluid changed but heard that this could damage my car more.

have a look at this bulletin- it calls for the replacement of the torque convertor
depending on the miles and shape of the car- the whole tranny might be the best way to go. Honda had a few automatic tranny problems from 99-02
