just keep looking. i just found a '95 Civic for $300. it needed 2 fenders, a hood, and a front bumper which i got for $325 and installed myself.

you can find a good running Honda in that price range at most used car dealerships or private owned lots...i just informed another person that you can pick up a 99, 03 Honda civic with low miles on it if your willing to pay 4 or 5 grand....make sure you give it a good look over....if its in good shape when you buy it...you shouldn't have problems with a Honda for a long time

craigslist is a good spot depending on where you live. but even anywhere else you would find a old but still reliable honda for that price. goodluck on your search
