hey guys, i bought rims last year on low profile tires. they are Toyo Proxes.

16 inch...they are aluminum rims, and the tires are going bald and need to take them off, so i took them to a shop and ended up breaking a shops turntable, the tire kept slipping off the arm of the turntable (machine that takes the tires off) and when it ripped back i dont know how but it broke a piece of the machine, w.e

i took it to another shop and the same thing kept happening, it kept slipping off.


so i dont know how to take them off, i currently have on stock rims on my s14 and would like to get these rims on for the summer, i tried cutting them but they are steel belted. so any ideas on how to get it off? is there a special turntable machine for low pro's?

there are special machines for low profile tires, however there are some tricks you that can use to take them off on other machines. I would describe to you the tricks, but it would be hard to do so on here.

use a sawzall and cut as far as you can and then try the tire machie. im serious. we've remove tires with a sawzall many times. just dont hit the rim

I will have to try that someday judges. Its not so much a problem getting used tires off its getting the new ones on that will annoy anyone. I hate trying to make book time on those tires

Proper lubrication is what makes it so much more easier with stiff objects.

Seriously, when i had to get my gravel tires put on the shop used a lot of some lube they have and it was still a bitch to get off and put new one on but it worked. And trust me gravel tires have super stiff sidewalls.
