97 Honda Accord Idle Issues P0505?

I've got a 97 Honda Accord 4cyl Non-vtec and it is having idle fluctuations.

I've got the idle code listed as P0505 which says "idle control malfunction" in my Chilton manual.

I've gotten under the hood and done more than a visual check - checked a lot of sensors, hoses and made sure everything is tight and connected.

I found a post that says the throttle body sometimes gets "gummed up" and spraying throttle body cleaner might resolve the issue, which it did for about 15 min. and then this morning the idle is all over the place again. I pulled the intake hose off again and sprayed a bit more throttle body cleaner inside which smoothed it out, but now a couple of hours later it is doing the same thing again.

From all the stuff I've looked up it seems that I've got a bad Intake Air control valve IACV.....

I'm at the point where I'm going to purchase a new IACV and see if that works because I can't think of anything else it might be at the moment.....

Does anybody have any suggestions for me?

Your fuel injection system may be clogged up and need a complete fuel injection system clean out. Your fuel filter may need to be changed and the throttle control sensor may need replacing. Water in the gas can cause a rough idle. For $1 put a bottle of Heet or similar into the fuel tank to contain any water.
