Whenever the engine is cold, mainly during the winter time, I know that my car is going about 40mpg just by looking at the rpm. However, it seems like the needle on my speedometer wiggles back and forth between the 30. It is pretty much stuck there until the engine is hot enough and then both needles would correctly coordinate with each other.















Does anyone know what could be wrong? Thanks.

Yes there is a kink in your speedometer cable, or the vehicle speed sensor is bad.
