EBC green stuff

Anyone use these on their car? I know they dust and chew up rotors, but how bad is the noise?

I use them and they don't seem to wear down the rotor as bad as you might think, but the pads can go fast. As long as your break them in properly they can last. I've seen them last 3 full lapping days and 20,000K+ of city driving. Still well worth the money and great results.

As far as noise as long as you put the shims in I didn't hear a difference in noise over other pads. When the add says low dust, BS, ether deal with dirty rims or spend a lot of time cleaning them.

yeah I know they dust like a motherer... is the extra braking worth paying like 3x more? Also, I heard braking is not too great when they're cold

I used them for lapping and street use and they are well worth the money, the pads are under $100 now so its not bad at all. On a stock rotor the pads will stop you a lot faster than stock pads and they do not fade as fast as others. For the MILD car I would use them and pass on a brake upgrade kit. On the street you don't need to warm them up, just driving normal works fine. For lapping after your warm up lap they are are heated up.

Under $100 ?!?!? Where? The best I could get for EBC Green Stuff front pads was $130 tax in.

You're better off getting something more specific to your needs, I know that they throw a lot of dust, and come off the backing plate if they get too warm (at a lapping day), like so:

1 track day and not a whole lot of city driving on those pads..

get KVR carbon fibre pads, they are friggin great. i have had them on my last 3 cars. I will not buy anything else. They are quiet, dont dust like EBC's and they are actually pretty cheap. I got mine from Performance Improvements

Don't know what to say about those pads. Did you brake them in? Do you have brake ducts?

Broken in - yes.

Brake ducts - why should a stock brake powered car need ducts for the street, and 1 lapping day? I had stock pads in a heavier car I took to Shannonville (same place) and they held up fine in comparison..(they were newer, but by no means performance).
