I was reading up on people having their license plates written down by the cops and thought of what if you have the ability to hide your plates. So i looked into that and a bunch of people have a bunch of versions of the mechanical license plate hider which tilts the plate and you cant see it.

But were in the digital age here people ! So i thought about the maybach electronic tint which is a film that darkens when a current goes through it, and why not bring that idea to license plate covers. I found this patent: http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6556337.html now the patent is from 2003 so obviously im not the smartest guy in the room, so i was wondering:

Does anyone know where i can get this nifty license plate cover that will hide my plate on command using an electronic method rather than a mechanical one ?

Isn't that illegal? Concealment of license plate? Its bad enough that we get hassled by having our plates on our dash, what more if we hide it?

You can buy windows for your house that frost over with the flick of a switch. For bathrooms and main floor rooms mostly. Not sure what company it is, but saw it a few years ago. Basically, it's 2 panes of glass, with a film between them, that when electrical current is passed through it, becomes opaque. Pretty cool idea, wish I'd thought of it.
