Hood paint and assembly.

I've been considering those Ultra-Z hoods.. They look pretty sharp, and claim to be functional ram air.

Whats the average price you guys have been seeing for body shops to paint and install these hoods? I know I could probably install it myself, but being in a dorm on campus makes work like that a pain.

should be a couple hundred bucks installed and painted $200-$300 with good paint and aligned (hoods are a pain to align)

imported_Sincere is an unknown quantity at this point
I put my hood on myself, no problems aligning or anything. Try putting it on yourself first before you pay for an install.

Lift off hoods are good for show cars and race cars, not to pratical for a street car.

I wanted a functional scoop also, and those lift off ones probably arnt right? The Ultra Z mentions that it works with stock air box. Not sure how it gets the air into the engine though if you remove the top airbox lid since the air (stock) comes from under the filter.

that's because the only functional street scoop is cowl induction (a pro stock style ram air does work, but you have to get it to about the middle of the windshield)
