The thing Ive always wonderd was is there really a huge diffrence in the modes. My radar has Auto, Highway, and city. I leave it on auto. If I left it on Highway would it work better?

exactly, auto is probably best. City will also ignore most x band radar, here the cops use x band

Mine is where Highway is less sensitive than city, so that's why I leave it on city, I'd rather have false alarms than no alarms at all.

personally I bought a cobra at circuit city and it works great for me.

Edit: Mine's really sensitive, too, always goes off around plazas because it picks up the microwave signals that the automatic doors give off.
