The Last Strange Days...

Well, summer up here in Winnipeg is winding down. The days are getting colder, and shorter.

The Camaro is slated to be loaded up into storage for yet another winter as of November 1st/05. That means 18 days before I have another vehicle (my new 2006 truck arrives the week of Nov19/05).

A lot was accomplished this year.
- The engine is complete, installed, and running strong. A 4.1L Stroker V6 has replaced the previous 3800 Series II under the bonnet, complete with forged internals, stage II PnP heads, and a ZZP GT1 camshaft.
- The transmission was torn apart and rebuilt to handle ridiculous amounts of power, with a stage II TransGo shift kit, and billet servo pistons. 1st to 2nd chirps without much trouble.
- The rear end was beefed up, with an Auburn positraction differential, and 3.42:1 rear gears for additional pick-up.

However, much more awaits for next year.
- The initial datalogging tells me that I'm running dangerously out of fuel at WOT... the injectors are maxed out, and the fuel pump is just tired. Time for 36# injectors and a 255 LPH fuel pump. May possibly need 42#...
- Especially after the turbo install. No, it's still not done yet. I've got all the parts, but money was an issue this year, unfortunately. Thankfully, all will be taken care of, and 2006 will be the year of the V6.
- Tires... even at part throttle, the car kills the 245/50ZR16 Cobra GTZs on the rear wheels. As a result, I have little/no rear tread left. Hydroplaning is easier to do than avoid. I also intend on jumping up a size to 255/50ZR16.

And now, some photos of the car in its glory, awaiting its long slumber that is only weeks away....

Problem is, when it's sitting in the engine bay, it looks so stock, it almost hurts.

Here was the shots from inside the shop.

Wow, I've never seen anyone actually buy the stroker kit. Can't wait to see what the engine can do after everything.

Isn't the stroker kit only able to handle 6lbs of boost though. At least that's what it use to be, don't know if they've made the crank stronger.

I love you car, nothing better than telling people you have a V6 and then blowing the door's of V8's.

It's a 1997.

People aren't always sure of whether or not it's a V6, especially with the Z28 exhaust tips. Then it starts up... and they still can't tell, because it's got a great cam lope, and the exhaust really works well together.

The engine has been build to withstand a LOT of power, so I'm not worried about the issue with the old stroker cranks.

I'm 1/4 of an SR20DET's displacement away from the Ford Modular 4.6.

How funny is it that I work for Ford?
