well i was losing a lot of power due to a clogged up cat so i got my metal pole and hammer and gutted that sucker. so as of right now i have a gutted cat w/piping back to the axel and thats it, no muffler. my car is now louder than i could ever imagine. now i love the looks its getting and it scares the hell outta people when they are standing near it and i start it up but i think its time to explore my options.

I figure i can get a used stock cat off camaroz28.com pretty cheap which would give my car a nice sound but i was wondering if a high flow cat would muffle the sound a little and get rid of some of the rasp. any suggestions on brands or any other info i need to know about high flow cats? or should i just stick a stock one on there? forgot to mention this is on my Z not the 6er.

Well I do happen to have a Hi-flow cat that is practically new that Ive been wanting to sell... so If you want to go that way, I have one for you if you want. Its 3" in/ 2.5" out, the guy before me used it 3 months.. Ive just had it in its packaging still, cause I havent had time to put it on, and i need the money... so let me know

not sure on a z28, but i think it is 2.5 piping... and im almost positive its 3" in, anyone correct me if im wrong... its a perfection hi flow cat

the flow is about the same so sound should be similar, may be a touch louder with a hi flow

I had a carsound high flow cat on my '94 and I loved it. It was 3" all the way through but it hooked up to my loudmouth exhaust and not the stock catback.
