Everyone in the midwest look here!!!

Id like to open up this invitation to everyone here. I am hosting a midwest bbq/g2g for NIFBA, Z28.com, MFBA, and many other forums. We are trying to make this big so members can meet before the season and have a good time.

When: April 14th 2007 Noonish - ?
Where: Urbana IL (pm for address please) this is a central location from most midwest states, so far max driving time is 4hrs.
What: BBQ/G2G
Why: to hang out and have a great time before the season and talking cars

If I get enough interest in this and hotel rooms are wanted/needed I can possibly pull a discount. Although the rooms down here on weekends are usually only $40ish a night I will see what I can do. We are planning to hang out and ******** and eat. We also can take a nice little cruise to bother some local car people as well. This is the home of the University of Illinois as well and might be of interest to go check out the bar scene too. HOWEVER I will not tolerate underage drinking and drinking and driving is not something I want to see. I want this to be a fun time for all and no one getting hurt or in trouble would be ideal.

now what I ask of those coming.....I am providing meats. but Id either like to see those attending bring a dish to share, beverage, or $5 to chip in with the costs of food, drinks. Also please be respectful, I do live in a pretty nice area and there is a nice long open road about 1/4 mile from my place if some fun whats to be had. I dont want to get kicked out over this lol. We will be lining all the cars up single file along a wide road right next to my apt building so we can all park together and no worry of door dings etc, it is not a highly traveled road at all, i see maybe 5 cars down it a day.

Id like to get a rough head count by the 1st of April if I could. Please the word about this and get as many people to come as you can!

mxracerbrian 03-11-2007 09:42 PM

sounds like fun but yep...way too far

It's a 3.5 hour drive from the WI border so add however much time it takes you to get to IL to 3.5 hours and that'll give you drive time. Of course this is not considering traffic so you should probably add extra time on for that right off the bat.

I'd consider going if we can get a caravan going down. I really don't want to do seven hours of driving by myself.

Jpack 03-12-2007 09:16 PM

There will be a NIFBA caravan going. There will be a couple people from Wisconsin coming.

mmm maybe chad.. the 14th... ?? ehh well see still far *** drive for me. lets see a headcount first.

Jpack 03-13-2007 04:56 PM

If you are worried about the drive, pony up and stay the night. Share a room and it's $20 per person.

I'd be also heading down with the NIFBA crew most likely.

I'm more worried about getting off work for the entire weekend. I've asked off a lot of days already for the cam/gear install, spring cruise, etc...

thats sounds tempting cause I already put my vacation in for the 13th thru the 19 so I could make it. How far is it from chicago?

02hawk796 03-14-2007 12:19 PM

hmm. 8 hour drive each way on salt-filled roads. Perhaps another time.

Sounds like you're unsure. When you've decided, let us know so we can the word that it's on solid.

z28camarocarri 03-14-2007 02:04 PM

Im about 3 1/2hrs from Kenosha if that helps at all.

2 1/2-3 from chicago give and take for traffic. I just went to WI last saturday with a friend, doing 75 the whole way with moderate traffic and some hold ups at tolls it was 3hrs and 10 minutes.

thats just a rough idea for some of you guys.

I will have some available room at my place if you bring a pillow/blanket but rooms down here are only around 40 bucks on weekends. If i can get an approximate number i can work on discounts.
