Do you still have the Integra? You competing with it?

mark of tsr 04-15-2005 12:13 AM

no i sold it i have something alot lighter now :SHILLACKE

dj_jake 04-15-2005 10:27 AM

i have an mx6, it wont be competitive due to its weight. i need to weigh no less then 2200lbs with me in it, but the way it stands, ill be in the 2300-2400lb region with me in it...
i really need to put into an mx3, but thats much more work then i am willing to do at the moment, so i may just consider it for another season.

Is there a trophy for last place? If so I might run the 17s VW :UDONT:

GinoBeats 05-01-2005 02:28 PM

Hey Mark i'll be there with the z24door, The 3400 that I have been building it up is pure n/a. Looking forward to running again this year. Would of been out earlier but damn Wiseco took forever to make my pistons, not a big deal anyways since none of the CSCS or other events are happening anytime soon but still.

GinoBeats 05-02-2005 06:20 PM

I've got a question, I'll be in SS All Motor class and with a 3400 v6 what can I do about minimum weight requirements? My car weighs 2359 with my system, jack, spare tire and whatever crap there is, with my powertrainsetup (3300-3900cc) it says the minimum is 2600 lbs, ?

MRAD 05-04-2005 03:13 PM

If you want to meet the minimum weight, try removing all of that and use weights instead, that way you can move them around the car and help with your weight distribution, and still meet the requirement. You may actually get the wheels down a bit better and be able to control the car easily due to better weight distribution if you go with the weights (metal blocks and things of that sort that give you an exact weight). Good luck, just a suggestion.

(Wish I had that problem :p )

dj_jake 05-04-2005 03:44 PM

keep in mind, that is 2600lbs with driver, so if youre roughly 200lbs, your car only needs to be around the 2400 mark, which i think would be hard for you to reach.
2300lbs with everything you listed seems really light... i thought those old jbody's were heavy as ?

no offence, but is that thing really going to be competitive by any means?
as you can see, there is big weight breaks given to the fwd 4cyl guys, and i can imagine them making some damn good power. i think the reason the weight penalty is so great for the v6 guys, is because you can make some serious power using some of the OHC v6 motors out there. im not all to familiar with the 60 degree gm pushrods, so i dont know what theyre capable of, how much are you planning to make? 2600lbs is damn heavy, especially if you consider that any of the honda's which usually dominate these all motor classes, are in the under 2300cc category, which means that they are going to be rolling with 2150 lbs of weight, INCLUDING slicks and driver... which is extremely light at that point. if you choose to run on slick, you will need to be at 2750lbs with driver... which means you will be racing at most likley a 600lb deficit! you will need to be making a great deal more power over the honda compeititors to keep up, all this adds up to one big disadvantage
dont mean to be rude or anything, and if youre just coming out to have a good time, and show them what an old jbod can do, good stuff, and ignore what ive said. would like to hear more about your setup though!

GinoBeats 05-05-2005 12:11 AM

Hey man, I'm tired of people putting down J bodies especially 2nd gens. They are the lighest of the entire J body line up, especially '90 and older models including my base '88 4 door. Second of all my motor is far from stock, I have built it myself and I have learnt everything on my own over the years and have always done my own work. I don't care if I win or lose its for my own benefit. Regardless yeah i'm competing but its for my own fun and experience. I have been working on these engines and cars for over 10 years so I am very experience with them in the same turn though i'm sure you're way more experience with another car model or engine setup than I am for sure. I enjoy working on my car, I love the sound of my 60 degree v6 and I will be pushing a good amount of power with the setup that i've got. Thats all, Anyways there are a couple of other guys running a larger V6 in their car with CSCS and they are reduced quite a bit of weight on the car. Anyways like I said its going to be a good year and lots of fun thats all its about :thumbsup
