Worst timeslip?

After reading brownkids thread I wanted to see who has the balls to show off their worst timeslip....

I think I take the cake at 27 seconds.....:loser:

Story behind it? Thought I blew up my car after being to agressive in first gear..... Luck was on my side that night.

..77. 09-07-2006 12:55 AM

My old lady , Dings, 86 trans am with a 100 dollar 305 .It has corvette converter govenors and valve body auburn posi 3.70 richmond gears . Will 60 foot almost dead even with my buddies 81 trans am that cuts 13.5,s . Sad fact is it floats the valves at4700 rpm. cuts a bunch of 18.8,s at St Thomas. With timing and carb work got it down to 17.40 . Thats it ..77.

I have a time slip on my Garage wall. 1.71 60' 13.5 1/4 @ 72
Coasted through the traps after it blew up before the 1/8th

I don't have a slip for it, but we had a 1/4 mile marked out at our race locale in Sarnia, and I managed to do it in about 27 secs in a 1982 VW diesel Rabbit.

I have one where I had a 1.55 60ft and made my full face clutch a 3 piece unit. Thankfully I had enough momentum to trip the beams at the end and collect my 60ft timeslip.

I think it stopped counting it took so long.

I launch, hit 6k and the car just nosed over. The car revs ok, so I put it into 2nd and give it another try. Cuts out at ~5500 this time. Coast it to the end, and collect a 20 second slip.

Turns out I had a misfire caused by oil building up in a spark plug hole...
Cleaned out the oil and went on to run my fastest time, a 15.5.

Hey that's almost as slow as the Daytona :hitwithro Let the smack talking for next year begin.

And yeah 93 GSR hatch, ran 17.40, it popped out of gear after the launch due to wheel hop.

5PointOHNO 12-13-2006 06:45 PM
