Introduced to Canadians at the 2012 Montreal International Auto Show, Subaru’s anxiously awaited first rear-wheel drive car, the BRZ, is due in Canadian showrooms in June 2012.

Designed in collaboration with Toyota (which rebrands its version, the GT86, as the Scion FR-S for North America) the BRZ is the first front-mounted boxer-engine rear-wheel-drive sports car in the world, employing Subaru’s 200-hp (151 lb.-ft. of torque) 2.0-litre horizontally-opposed four-cylinder engine outfitted with Toyota’s D-4S direct and port fuel injection system. A six speed manual is the standard shifter, with a sequential shift six-speed automatic (with rev-matching on downshifts and steering wheel paddles) optional.

Would prefer to get the BRZ over the GT86, Subaru just sounds a lot better :P
