AWD to RWD
#17
I don't know how this would be done. But with some Subaru models there was a fuse in the engine bay somewhere that if pulled would convert the car to FWD (the opposite of what you asked for though)

RWD is doable and has been done to great success by Team Orange in Japan's D1GP, they had to dig around in the Subaru stockpile of previous generations for a bunch of parts mind you.
But a simple way to do it; take out the front 1/2 shafts.. there's your RWD., not elegant mind you and can't really be done if your running DCCD. Ideally you'd want to do more work, a R180 rear end to take the full output, removal of the front diff, replace the input shaft..

if you take the front two shafts out the car wont even move. All of the power will go to try and move the front two wheels and there is no resistance, it will pretty much kill the VC in 10seconds. If you wanna go RWD, you can either get the RWD center diff (rocket racing makes one) or make your own (google it)

that's sort of impossible.. the front LSD is slaved to the output of the tranny, not the other way around. So yes it WILL work, is it practical? not in the least but it's ' a way to do it' .
