from an insurance company that 20/yo cars are a)NON isurable a or B) more expensive to insure ..

WTF **** OFF... my 83 buick is MORE safe than any riced out 94 civy hatch that i see...

why the hell do they think they can rape people for the age of their car..really tho.. i mean its passed cert.. safe is safe.. goddamn bullshit

kinda - i remember a few yrs back i wanted to insure a 1984 or 1985 GMC 3/4 tonne full size truck and they quoted me something rediculously high on one of those "lowest quotes web sites". basically i had no prob with my current insurance co. But ya - Ive heard some BS about older model vehicles being pricy for some reason - cant member why tho

if yer ride is 20 yrs old or older, youve had yer lisence for 10+yrs, and yer over a certain age (20 i think), then you can get special insurance (custom/classic/etc..) for super cheap

Ex:- my 2nd gen Camaro would only cost me like $300 for the year to insure, however with these companys ya need to have a seperate dedicated daily driver car and it must be insured, the specialty insurance is basically for pleasure use

Welcome to my world.... there aren't a lot of companies to choose from when trying to insure an older vehicle.... I pay it up the bum! (but for a Supra its worth it!!)

The big problem is getting parts. It's easier for them to write off an older car than to try to sort out the parts to fix any damage. Heck, they don't even stock new parts anymore. Go to the dealer and they'll search the computer for a common parts and then tell you that there are 2 available in North America. Usually, in a warehouse as far from your location as possible.

Most companies will insure an older car but require an appraisal be done to prove it's value first.

well i just wanted liabilty on my truck anyways.. like if anything happens like it got wrote off or stolen they wont hear from me anyways..

Try and find a group insurance usualy they are cheaper and more leniant with the older veichles
