Booked by the MTO HELP!

Hey guys I got booked by the MTO this morning (suprisingly it didnt come sooner since I'm driving a heat magnet, lowerd S10 with a 350SB painted flat black) for not having some vaccum lines hooked up and got a pretty fat ticket. I wasnt aware I needed these lines hooked up, as one involves drilling into my after market air cleaner to be able to set up. Im gonna schedual a meeting with the prosecutor but just want to know EXACTLY what I was charged with. My ticket says

"Contrary to: O.Reg 361/98 Under the environmental protection act. R.S.D 1990. Sect./Art. 7(3)"

When I tried to look for it section 7(3) said disposal at sea. Seeing how Im driving an S10 and not a boat I didnt think this was right lol.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Sorry to not be of any help...but I will say this much

The car culture atmosphere is Ontario now is something completely different than how it was 3-4 years ago (and also before that). Chances are there will be no more easing, but if anything, more tightening and cracking down.

Vacuum lines should be the last of your worries...I'd get rid of that truck and find another hobby/interest.

Heres some pics of it, I guess its a little bit of a heat score, pretty loud but not overly. Its for sale too if anyone wants to know :dunno:

And ricer noob I know what you mean about how the car scene is going but I dont think I could ever give up working on and upgrading cars, if I didnt have my cars I'd become a huge video game junky and never see the light of day again lol. And plus too I like the car culture, it brings me together with people and its over all really fun. Also Ive seen alot of modded cars getting booked by the MTO, not really any stock looking cars, older or new, they see a nice car and its just like a big target.

Yeah my bad sorry. And thanks for the compliment. I think I will end up just paying the ticket. Im still in school and the cost of the ticket is almost a months worth of pay for me :smashfrea so I was hoping on getting it reduced a bit, or at least the time waiting for a meeting with the prosecutor would buy me some time :smilie_da

I know what the MTO can be like, I got busted at the end of September for not having a catalytic converter on my 84' Monte. I bought the car that way but the fine they gave me was $360. I went to the Justice of the Peace and he lowered it to $150 and gave an extra 30 days. Needless to say, now that i got my 350sbc in I have dual converters lol.

Good luck with the fine, hopefully they'll cut it down and give extra time if you pay a visit to the JP.

yeah definately see a J.P, they may help you a bit,
and i guess he got you for lack of proper emissions. thats pretty crappy, the trucks not that much of a heat magnet. looks good too. but myslef and the mahority of my friends run airride trucks and we get hit every now and then. its the same in any auto hobby, MTO will be out for ya

Vroom 11-09-2007 09:22 PM

Ive always thought the airride trucks were pretty sweet, would like to do one some day. And yeah thats true about them going after different auto hobbeys. I think its just because when they see a modded car they think their will be more of a chance of being able to hand out a ticket, alot of people may be unaware certain things are violating some rules. And thanks for the story about your 84 monte car_crazy, brings some hope to me haha.
