Car Accident Need Help

i am posting for my brother, so he was driving the other night and got into an accident he totaled his car. what happened was he was going straight down a street and ran the amber light because he couldnt stop on time. well someone on to the right of him was turning left and pulled out in front of him. so when the police came he gave my brother a ticket for failing to stop for an amber and said it was his fault when i think of it its not his fault. should he go through x copper ? here is a picture of what he did.

Take it to a good traffic lawyer. Depending on witnesses he may win. My understanding is that cars turning left have to make sure that traffic is clear and it is safe to do so. For the most part, going through an amber would be reasonable but the car turning left would be at fault.

Of course if their are witnesses that say your brother ran the red totally then you may have another problem.

Good luck.

uhh so the guy turned on a red then?
so why wouldn't u fight it...
cause if he ran a yellow then the other guy was at a red...
unless your brothers full of and hiding the fact he ran a red which would make sence why the person was turning.. ie advanced green or green period...

there seems to be some irregularities with your story, and based on my own driving experience, this is what i would assume happened based on the info you have given.

two schenarios could have happened:

1. the person making the left turn consciously ran the red light just as your brother was going through the intersection.

2. your brother ran a FULL red light to the point where the opposing traffic had an advanced green or green light.

sorry to say, but based on my own experience of driving for well over 7 years (pretty much everyday), i would say that scenario #2 would be what i would put my money on. i ALWAYS see people run amber lights that are turning red before they enter the intersection, and i RARELY see people run red lights to make a left turn before the light turns green. the ones that do run red lights in the left turn lane usually are making U-TURNS and do it before traffic reaches them.

either way, don't go to x-coppers ... i've used them once in the past and to be frank, they're morons that ultimately don't do jack . i don't care if they have all these fancy testimonials on their web page or fancy offices, they didn't do for my speeding ticket and it costed me $350 in fees plus the resulting 3 demerit points on my license when they failed to get it reduced.

lol ye, exactly what i said...
people turn into instant liars at a scene of an acident. and when there are no witnesses that come forward then u get a 2 personn story urs vs theirs...
which is more beleivable, the fact he accidently went through an amber and got hit by a person taking a left turn on a red? which i can never see happening...or going through a red and smashing into an advanced green or full green.

witenesses in the car? was anyone injured? witnesses period? how many in the other car? was there an advaced green at the lights?

that story doesnt make sense. when making a left hand turn, you watch people going parallel with you, not from the other direction. chances are it was more of a red then amber. so if he ran a red, then t-boned someone making a legal left, then its his fault. unless theres solid witnesses that can verify that guy made a left on a red, then itll be ur bros fault.
