Do I have to talk to the prosecutor?
hey
I got a ticket last year in May for speeding 45km/h over and originally got a court date for next month but I postponed it to Sept. 4 cause it's gonna conflict with my work at that time. I would like to know, do I have to talk to the prosecutor? cause I went to court last week to postpone my court date and watched the other people's cases and it seems, he/she will ask everyone if they plead guilty but if the cop isn't there, do I still have to talk to her? And if I plead guilty with the prosecutor and the cop isn't there, would I still get in trouble? the reason i'm asking this cause when I was in court last week, I saw one cop wearing normal everyday clothes and it seems like a sneaky move. unless if every cop has to sign in, then I wouldn't have to worry much. |
U can ask the prosecutor if the cop is present - and he might or might not tell u. If u plead guilty - then ur guilty even if the cop is present or not there.
so make sure to scan around the courtroom and check if the cop is present. If u dont see him and have a good feeling then take ur chances and plead not guilty and pray for those 2-3 mins when they page him over the speaker that he doesnt show. |
i heard redline legal service are quite good at speeding ticket and stuff like that
