Got Railed by a cop today. Any hope?

Ok I got stopped by this cop today and he told me to 1st, roll up my window, and then roll it back down. He nailed me for having tints too dark (HTA - Sect. 73(3)) "Colour coating obstruct interior".
Then he rails me about my exhaust too loud that he's standing on the pavement and can feel it vibrating. (HTA - Sect. 75(1)) "Improper Muffler - Motor Vehicle".
Okay so I think he's giving me 2 tickets but when he comes back he gives me 3.
3rd ticket is unnecessary noise (HTA - Sect. 75(4)) "Unnecessary Noise".

This guy was a total prick to me right from the start. I told him that I asked a cop in Markham about my muffler and that he said it was okay. This guy tells me "Ya thats Markham, this is Toronto".
Do I even have a chance in court fighting these tickets?
The time of the offences is 7:36pm.
So it was really dark plus the lighting at mccowan/huntingwood is horrible. Barely any street lights at that intersection.
And my buddy was telling me that he can't nail me for unnecessary noise because of the time. He was telling me that you can pretty much be as loud as you want during the day except between 11pm - 7am.
My car is nowhere near as loud as a Harley.
If i showed up to court with an invoice showing a purchase of muffler and installation, would they drop the ticket?

If the vehicle information is wrong, does the ticket get dropped? Right beside the license plate number on the ticket shows the year of the vehicle if i am not mistaken. On previous tickets, the year of the vehicle was shown in that box. For this ticket, the officer put "07" Make: Acura. I'm pretty sure he was supposed to put "94" on the year of the vehicle. Can somebody clear this up if the year of the vehicle or the plate expiry is supposed to go there.
Do I stand a chance?

Asnwer this:

Do you drive a civic?

I was driving like a moron?

This is obviously your first interaction with cops( 94 .. right). I wouldn't really worry to much my friend.

Quad4 10-22-2006 02:13 AM

No I drive a teg.
And no I wasn't driving like a moron. I don't screw around on the streets, I know the family who's son died from street racers. I do Track only. I was just cruising on my way to Scarborough Town Center to catch a flick.

Yes this is my first interaction with cops for something stupid like this.
So what can I fight?

Your buddy is wrong.

The tint on your windshield and your front side windows is too dark if a cop can't clearly see the driver inside the car. Day or night makes no difference.

The 07 refers to the expiry date on your validation sticker. Even if the vehicle information is wrong, those sorts of non-fatal errors can be amended in court and are in fact amended all of the time without argument from the JP.

get someone to dfight these tickets for you... the guy willt talk to you about each ticket and explain to u how hes gunna get them dropped if you trust him pay him if nto tell himt o go **** himself

heishin2 10-30-2006 09:12 AM

Tint - Factory option...
Exhaust - Unless he uses a decible reader... he cant tell
Noise polution - I dunno about that one. There is a law now that was recntly passed regarding noise pollution from business and their music. I dunno about cars.

If u can show them some receipts that the changes have been made... the will let u off... I got away with some.

sayashi 11-03-2006 09:16 PM

that is stupid i mean if a damn harley can drive in the city no problem then compare to this is nothing those damn crap is annoying...i feel like kick it over if i could but anyways...ya i got insomethin liket his b4 i only got away with a warning about the muffler crap
isnt 2nd and 3rd ticket pretty much the same
i mean if ur muffler is makin noise then u get a charge on that and whats with unnecessary noise thats more like if u blast the speaker

Harleys can be loud as they want cause look at the riders . 50 something fat azzes with money and good lawyers . What cop wants to pull over a 20 thousand dollar modded harley to find . A judge , lawyer , another cop , fireman a city council man . Why pull over these kinda guys when A under 25 yr old in a even slightly modded car is such an easy mark ??.
Its true . Iwas in 4 lanes a traffic the in the end of last week 2 modded harleys 1st lane , me an winter beater middle lane . Cop next to me . The harleys were so freakin loud at the light one of the guys shut his engine off cause they were yelling back and forth to each other and could nt hear what the other was saying .I kept one eye on the light , one eye on the cop an he never even looked theyre way when we all pulled away fronm the light even with them . To serve and protect . Serve the poor with papers , protect the rich and theyre money..77.

you have a fart can and yor tint is too dark, typical rice. you decided what you wanted to "mod," so no deal with the consequences. you want the tickets off? take off the tint and fart can. the noise ticket will prob be there to stay.

thats funny. you haven't even seen my car and you think it's rice. LOL. Yours must be more rice than anything out there.
If you got nothing good to say, keep your negative comments to yourself.

Take it to court.. and yes u have an excellent shot at winning .. cops who are pricks and ticket ppl for no reason (especially if u werent being a prick) usually dont do evidence on there tickets.. meaning just plead not guilty and u should b fine ......

Mean98Neon 11-15-2006 04:13 PM

WOW, thats rough u got improper muffler and excessive noise.. he should of given u the one or the other....!!! Ive gotten an excessive noise but it was because of my muffler, not 2 of them !!! and when I got mine i was driving like a dick head in 3rd gear going 120 so my was screaming!

I feeel for ya man.. I was told by the cop if u bring a receipt to court saying uve changed ur exhaust they drop the ticket.... my recommendation is get a fake exhaust receipt and both will proby be droppped !

ferrari_sol 12-04-2006 10:55 PM

I gotta go fight a improper muffler ticket on the 8th of december. It happened in markam though. I asked the cop about the harley situation he said its because its an OEM muffler. So if you got to midas or speedy to get a simple muffler put on, its not OEM. He didin't say much after that. I'll let you know the outcome of the case.

slow_teg 12-06-2006 09:20 PM

i just got back from court today for unnecessary noise due to my friend lighting up his tires at an intersection. i went and faught the ticket and the cop in cambridge had no clue what he was doing. he said he didnt even think that i was going to show up today. i eneded up winning it cause he said i had purple underglow and i showed a pic of my car with blue underglow and said the other car had the purple underglow so the judge let me off
i say go and fight the ticket, i fight everyone i get, its not about if you win or lose. if you have three of them they will drop one or two and only give you one.
