Got stopped in a parking lot.

Me and my buddy are sitting parked at my old high school just reminising about the stupidness we did back then when two cops roll up on us. I thought they were gonna ask us questions but they just drove past us and parked behind us. I figured it was a sublte hint for us to buzz off so I pulled away very slowly. Thats when they hit the lights on us. They ask me where I tried to go and I said I just thought you were hinting at us to leave. Then they go back and take god knows how long sitting in their car. They ask us a bunch of questions, where we live, our phone numbers, my buddy even got asked how tall he is. After writing down our info and probably our license plates, vehicle description, they just drove off before I could ask them wut the hell they stopped us for.

We weren't street racing earlier. The only explanation I can think of is they saw two asian guys sitting in two modified hondas so to the police, we fit the fast and the furious stereotype. Fine, I can live with that. What I would like to know is what happens to the information they have, and how long they keep it for. Does anyone have any idea what they typically do with that kind of information?

what time was it when you guys parked there? school parking lots are also private parking lots (they belong to the school), so after the school hours, you should try not to park there.

they probably didn't know you guys are asian until they drove past your cars, and they came to you likely because you guys parked at a school parking lot, outside of school hours, and had two modified hondas (civics? lol). they took your information because you guys seemed suspicious, and if anything might happen to the school/in the area then at least they might have the info of potential suspects or witnesses (lol).

so Takumi... may be next time park at a public parking lot accross from your school, or just don't go there too long after school hours.

btw I think you fit the Initial D stereotype more :)

they thought you were either ****ing, or smoking dope. also they dont do anything with that info. perhaps they would use it if there was some mischief in the area they could pin on you but thats it.

So if nothing happens to the school, do you think they'd get rid of that information?

I hope it's just my paranoia but I was thinking maybe they put our cars on some street racer watch list. I feel like I'm driving a car with a damn bullseye on it.

SpeedNRG 11-09-2006 12:46 AM

if you watch tv, you'll know that they have info of people even from years back. their database is obviously enormous; do you think they ever delete anything?

its more likely for them to put you guys onto a street racers list if you guys were driving, but you guys were parked right.
you're the one who keeps saying they think you're street racers.. honestly I think you want to be one more than you want them to think you're one :) . chill out btw, its not that serious.

ya ur right. I'm just psyched up after my first run in with law fresh in my mind.

btw, you were half right about the other thing. My buddy drives a civic coupe. I have a prelude. :D

phht its not even about streetracing i'd say. Standard procedure cops do it so often to random people chillin parking lots at night. Really no big deal, but they do keep a record of it my lawyer pulled that up once, it like loitering here loitering there ...

i had the same thing happen to me and my buddy we jus pasted by our old highschool and the cops put the cherries on and actually seached the car, ****ing rediculous, we were driving a freaking elantra so its not like we were about to looking for a race.

lol... ya .. when its a slow day for the cops.. they tend to pass there time looking for things .. (even stupid things) .. As for them stopping to talk to you... who cares let them waste there time.. if u didnt do anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about.
