Got a ticket for no plates !

I got a ticket for failing to display my plates, even though I had my back plate hooked up and fully visible but the front one was on my dashboard since my front bumper needed some work!

the lady cop gives me a ticket and tells me to go to the court on burnhamthorpe and mavis and I went there like a jackass and got an appointment with a prosecutor in couple of weeks but what I didn't realize was that she wrote on the ticket that I failed to display my plateSSS! as if I was driving without plates.

What's the best thing to do? I can't really fight it anymore since I didn't challenge the evidence of the police officer and I can only give an explanation to the prosecutor, so would that mess up my record , would it still go on my record ? because I know it won't affect my points but just don't want something stupid like this on my record!

Take pictures and go fight it. You have the option to always fight. Even if you pay the ticket off you can fight it.

But you are always suposed to have a front plate. No exceptions enles your not from Ontario.

but I don't think I can fight it anymore since I already filled out the paper that asks me if I challenge the officer's evidence/w.e

And my court date is already set, i don't think I can change anything now!

It shouldn't be a problem. Before your trail, talk to the justice of peace with what you plan to do. They always offer you a reduce charge. See what your options are from there.

I know you are supposed to have a front plate mounted, but if it is obvious your front bumper is being worked on, wouldn't that be a logical excuse, esp if the plate is in the front window? It's not as if he was deliberately trying to keep it off.

My front end was all smashed up by someone else, and it took a month for parts to come into the body shop, so I had no front plate for that period of time.
