What going on guys i'm 16 and i'm looking to buy a car on my own but the thing is i'm not to sure what to buy i'm pretty much looking for any car that will be cheap on insurance and i was wondering who here has a good insurance company? and help on this topic would be apprciated

Where do you live? If you're in Toronto, pretty much ANYTHING you insure as a 16 year old will cost you north of $5,000 a year.. I don't know how young guys handle it.. I've got a young friend who tried calling around for insurance; some reps just laughed and hung up when they heard he was only 16.

I agree with a 90's tempo/topaz as a cheap, reliable first car.. they're great beaters, and good (well, as good as you can get) on insurance.. but prepare yourself to be surprised with the rates you're given.

Someone, in another simular post reply with, take the bus, or use your parents car if they can trust you. Buying a car at 16, is not exactly the smartest thing, save your money until your 18-19, buy a nice new reliable car that you like. Insurance is going to be a lot cheaper, esspecially with a G.

Although it'd be nice to be back in High School again.. at 23, I much prefer my rates and my current car.

I was shocked, however, when the kid I taught how to drive, the kid I coached for his g2 test started calling around for insurance and got what amounts to mortgage payments as his monthly rates-- and that from the companies that would actually agree to insure him. I don't remember going through that much :bs: 7 years ago

insurance is rape for anything with four wheels when your 16/17. put the car under your parents if you can.... its not worth the 4500/year for a 500 shitbox :smilie_d0

I'm 18, g2 liscence, with a 1994 si hatchback.

I pay less than 2300$ a year. How you ask? My dad is first driver on the car. DO IT PEOPLE, IT WORKS.

so is there like a way ok my parents don't drive so is there a way that i could get my own car and go under like my bros insurance without him having to be insured on my car? he is over 25 with a clean record i believe and yes he does have the same last name as me so i could probably pull him off as being my father and yes lol he is old enough to be my father lol or at least in this day and age lol,
