hid warning
i was wondering if u can get pulled over for having hids?
if they are properly retrofits using proper hardware with minimum or zero glare
then no....if its those pacific mall kits without projectors or anything....its all up to the officer |
hids are only legal on vehicles that come factory equiped with them. no matter what retrofit you do, if your car didnt come with them theyre not legal to have.
yea rite airte thanks ill see how long i can keep driving without getting pulled over i doubt i will though my cars completly stock so will see wat happens
i drove around with mine and i wasnt hassled for therm at all. no retrofit either, but i had mine aimed down a bit so they only shined about as far as my high beams did and they actually didnt glare anyone. even my cop buddies said that when i was coming towards them or behind them they werent annoyed by the lights. but thats not in the gta, in the gta if you fart too loud in a modified car your gonna get ticketed
yea i tried to put them down put i cant go any lower becasue the bumper cuts them off but theres still alot of glare and people be highbeamng sometimes when im on a single lane
then your best off removing them or getting a retrofit. a cop can ding you for failing to turn off your high beams and thats a 2 pointer.
If your blinding other drivers, than you can get ticketed for it. No matter what bulbs you have, whether they're HID's or stock.
I hate HID's in the city. They just faking glare my eyes. Especially when they drive past you and you cant see nothing for a couple of seconds after. Theres street lights everywhere its not like out in the north with no other lights. And yeah you can actually blind on coming cars to a point that they steer into you. And yes the cop can give you a ticket or if you cause an accident because of them then youll be in deep dodo.

aha I got this jackass on my street that has 30K HIDS. (He thinks the higher the K the better the vision, when instead its the opposite) LOL :loser: |
30k? i didnt realise they went past 12k. 30 k must be a dark red color, or somethign equally crazy.

I'm not sure of the colour as I advised him to not install them. He showed me the box which had Chinese writing and said 30 000 K on it. It would look something like this http://kobausa.com/ls/12000K/purlight.jpg |
LMAO.... now thats illegal fo sure
lmao you can't see shi* with that kit. Your just begging to be pulled over with those on your car. Also your headlight are only supposed to be yellow(amber) or white. And any modification to your headlight that affects or hinders your headlights can get you a ticket...you can even get busted for eyelids
Those headlights are 12k not 30k.
according to the HTA section 62, they are legal as long as the following is adhered to:
1) lights to the front of the vehicle are either white or amber; 2) when lighted shall be clearly visible at a distance of 150 meters; 3) Lamps on the front of a motor vehicle shall be so constructed, located, arranged and adjusted that when lighted they produce under normal atmospheric conditions and on a level road a driving light sufficient to render clearly discernible to the operator of the motor vehicle any person or vehicle on the highway within a distance of 110 metres ahead of the motor vehicle; 4) lights are not coated or covered with a coloured material; 5) lights have not been modified by an attachment to the lamps or the motor vehicle of any device that reduces the effective area of the lenses or the intensity of the beam of the lamps; 6) No motor vehicle shall carry on the front thereof more than four lighted lamps that project a beam having an intensity of over 300 candela; |

i am planning to get HID's on my 2002 chevrolet cavalier. planning to get 6000k. does anyone thing that i will get pulled over for having these? the car is completely stock except for an intake.. if i do, how much will the ticket be? and is there any points?
no ur most likely not gonna get pulled over plus 6k gives alot less glare then 8k so ur not gonna be bothering people as much. and the max that a cop can do is just give u a warning but it depends on the cop some wont say anything some may pull ur over it depends. but less chances on a stock car
so ive installed my HID's but now i needa aim them.. can anyone tell me how to properly align my headlights so i can shoot my lights as far as possible without blinding other drivers?
