Insurance for a modded civic

I am having a hard time getting insurance because the few companies I have talked to dont want to insure my 93 modded civic. I dont mind paying a little extra to have the car insured and to avoid any hassles if by chance I do get into an accident. Does anyone know of any insurance companies that insure modded cars. I plan on calling All Risk tomorrow ( i just called but busines hours are from 8-5) but I was hoping for more than one option so I could do a comparison. Any help would be great.

I can insure your car however, I would only have one option, which is the facility market. I would require an appraisal with photos and would have to base the price on the appraised value.

Best thing to do for modded cars would be to get the appraisal done first.

If you have any questions just let me know. Email or call, i'm glad to help.

What is the 'facility market'? I have never heard that term before.

The facility market is the market of last resort.

Every broker has access to a facility carrier. They are the company that has no choice but to insure you if the standard companies won't.

when I called belair direct they said they couldnt help me. Get the car appraised monday so most likely going with all-risk, I still have a few other places to call but the way things are looking I am not getting my hopes up.

So far only Cooperators and All risk have said they can get me insured. Getting an appraisal Monday evening. Once I get that then I will fax it to both companies. Hopefully I can get a decent rate.

joshlaz is right, Facility Association is the only option. Its more expensive, but they will insure the car for its appraised value. I have my modded 240 insured that way.

Yep, I just got my insurance switched over on monday , I feel a lot better now knowing that my car is covered and i am legit. Plus it was only $100 more than state farm.

State farm was charging me $1420 originally but I also had to get life insurance witgh them as well so that was another $480 then I moved so they bumped up my insurance another $350 per year! F@%# that. That wasnt even for full coverage. On top of that they never got back to me when I asked about insuring a modded car. They asked me to mail a list and I never heard from them , unless it was for payment of course. At least now my car is fully covered.

Josh at All Risk got me set up with facillity insurance but at least i am covered. I feel a lot less worried when I drive now.
