Insurance for modified cars?
Anyone know any companys that insure modified cars ( turbo / different engine /etc)
if you are with such a company plz post. |
unless the car is major modified you dont have to go change up insurance (im not talking legally or anything else). If you want to protect your investment then you would get insurance for the mods, but other wise keep the insurance and keep the car safe, you will just loose the mods in payout.

no insurance company will cover your wing spoiler when it knocks down power lines
go facility is your only option for street legal vehical
doesn't your insurance company drop you if they find out you have mods? or do they just not cover your mods in the event of an accident?
I think they just dont cover the mods, they give you the blue book value.
so, why do they ask you when you first purchase a vehicle that if you will be adding turbo....etc? doesn't that suggest that your rate will be higher if modded.
I am not sure how much diffrent it is in canada from the states but they shouldnt ask unless it comes stock. They just won't cover the mods, only the blue book value in the case it is stolen or wrecked.

Most insurance companies have a different policy for modified cars. And you only need to trigger two different mods for insurance companies to flag your car. The most are ride height and rim/tire size.
