insurance for price of car?

hey guys i have a queston, say for example you have a eg hatch with quite a bit of mods, and its well worth more than stock. and if you crash it they will only give you how much its worth... is there anyway to insure it for lets say 5 thousand dollars worth? so when you crash you get 5 thou, not persay 2-3?

Yeah, you just have to inform your insurance company of the mods and their value, and prove you own it (i.e. take a picture). The only problem is, once you start getting into modding, esp. Civic's, insurance companies might try and drop you or say you're vehicle is un-insurable or will insurance it with a high rate because they assume you are going to street race etc. BUT, this depends on the company, your age and your driving history.

Kind of. It's pretty messed up man, if you crash and the see mods on your car, they MAY even refuse to pay you because you didn't declare the modifications lol. I would say call up your insurance company and tell them you are thinking about buy such and such modifications and see what they say.
