My Front licencse Plate is held on by Zip Ties...is this legal?

Just wondering...

the mounts on my friend bumper are more toasted than a pop tart...

so support the license plate on my car...

I zipped tied the sucker to the front end...

is this legal...I mean usin zip ties to hold my front plate???

my car is a 97 Honda Civic Hatch

willl I get harassed by our local and friendly police???

I think as long as the plate is secure and clearly visible from the front of the car, you'll be fine.

I had my plate in my front windshield when I got stopped by the MTO on the way to Cayuga once, and they told me to put it on the front of my car. I used zip ties right in front of the MTO guy and he didn't care... then again, he isn't a cop so I don't know...

I think the only rules on frt plate is mounted securely and easily visible from front . Like not hidden in a opening in bumper..77.

My friend got a warning statin that he can't have his front license plate on the passenger side front windshield cause it's not secure, and is more dangerous if the airbag deploy.. but the cop said he's giving a warnin this time.. is this a nice way of saying B.S. or is this the truth

Yes zip ties are perfectly legal. As long as it is on the front then you can use zip ties, glue or bubble gum if you wanted to hold it on there. On the dash is not the front and you may get pinched for it.

its the truth... i believe your license plate needs to be mounted on the "front-most" part of your car.. and clearly visible... which means on the bumper
and yea thats the law

Zip ties are fine, and MTO officers are peace officers enforcing provincial offences. In other words they lay charges just like the police do, except most of the charges they lay are much larger set fines, since they deal with commercial traffic, mostly. ;)
