Mysterious tickets.........

Okay, so earlier today I got pulled over for doing 95 in a 60. The cop took all of my information, went back to his car for about 20 minutes, and when he came back, he said that he dropped it to 80, but the next part is the kicker, He says to me, " you better smarten up or theyre gonna yank this license right away from you"....so having never been pulled over before, I'm like, "what do you mean officer?"...he says "ive got about 5 tickets on you within the last month." I was absolutely blown away, because ive never gotten a ticket in my life until now! How could this be possible? He also said that they were from the Durham area...a place that ive NEVER driven in...EVER. So he told me to get this straightened out with the MTO, but how the hell am I gonna prove that these tickets are not from me? Any suggestions? am I totally screwed?

He is fishing to see if you hang out in the area.
Dont worry about it.

You should contact Ministry of transportation to confirm.

Bluff or someone with a similar car is "borrowing" your Plate.

sometimes police will make up a fake ticket and say do everything accordingly except for giving it to you. they may have seen your plates at one time and just randomly wrote it down then later when they are working or supose to be working they will throw your part out and file the rest of it. some police officers have been caught doing this. its a real shame but it still happens. you should contact the MTO and get them to do a check and go down the the police station and ask for a write out of all your tickets.

That sucks! I would totally flip if this happened to me!!

slow_teg 04-03-2007 11:38 AM

ya so would i but iv heard of it being done before which really sucks because its hard to prove anything. unless the cop doesnt write in his notebook about it or gets something wrong while trying to remember a car.
