Officer wants to change the Trial Date!
 

Hi everyone,
I got a 40km/hr on the skyway bridge on my way to Niagara in the summer.

I opted for the Trial option and now 3 weeks to my trial, there is new letter saying that the Officer would like to change the date of the court since he has to attend a course on the day of the trial.
So basically my goal is to go on the day of the hearing and oppose the change in my trial date. Did anyone of you ever faced a similar situation?

My main reason for wanting to oppose the date change is that since my original trial date is on 15 Feb, and since universities are on Reading Week, I was planning to take care of it then since my school is far from Hamilton. So I want to tell the judge that any other date up until the end of April (end of school term) would conflict with my studies/exams and that the Original date or any other time during that week can only work.

What do you guys think?
