parked in front of ttc stop
 

i was parked near to a ttc stop....... i was far enough that the bus would have no problem but still this guy gave me a ticket for $60 dollars...i filed for court dat what kind of argument can i use???

Tell the judge your car broke down and you just wanted to pull over as quickly as possible to avoid causing a traffic jam/accident on a busy road. It just so happened that the place where you pulled over and stopped right when the car died was close to a bus stop. You stepped out of the car to go to a phone booth and call a tow truck, and when you returned, you noticed the parking ticket.

I don't know if it'll work, but it might be worth a shot.

dude they always check 2wice and then give you the ticket, or they leave a white mark on your rear tire left or right either or.

Yeah, let's just encourage everyone to become rank liars to avoid the consequences of their choices.

The whining on here about parking tickets is crazy.

It does not affect your licence or demerit points, nor insurance. Just pay it.

Just own up that you parked in a no parking zone and maybe next time look for a open parking spot.....even if it means having to use those two things called LEGS and walk a little distance.

I'm sure some might not appreciate the word WALK, but maybe one day it will affect your life or loved one. Maybe an emergency service vehicle needs to use that spot to park the ambulance closer (to carry their equipment in) or fire to put out your house fire, or police to stop that crazy person attacking someone.

SECONDS can save lives, that extra distance might be the second that you or your loved one needs.

but the problem is i was pretty far away from the ttc stop that why i'm complaining, i got a ticket for no reason......and i don't have money to throw away

Someone defined the area as being needed for safe and efficient transit bus operation. They didn't define it just so they could make it easier to hand out tickets.

Ok, you can't afford it? Then park around the corner, around the block, walk a little, or have the person you're picking up walk a little. Then you don't have to worry about throwing your money away. Or take the bus. How many bus fares does that $60 represent?

Ultimately it comes down to laziness. You see it all over. People block fire lanes as they idle outside store doors while someone just quickly dashes in for "just a minute". Of course, as soon as they leave, someone else rolls up and does the same. The net result is that the lane is blocked and everyone else get inconvenienced, and in the worst case, the fire trucks and ambulances can't get through to someone in the midst of a heart attack fast enough when even seconds count, all because some lazy lout couldn't park or stop their car a few more steps away.

And everyone has their justification, their rationalization for putting their wants ahead of the everyone else's. "I was only stopped for a minute." "I though I was far enough from the bus stop." "There was nowhere else to park in front of my house." "It's just a money grab those tickets." "They can go around me." "That's a stupid place for a no parking zone."

People really need to look past their own selfish interests and instead consider the greater interests of society as a whole. This "Me" generation needs to transform to a "We" generation.

thats why I always have a camera in my car.. pictures don't lie.. you can use that to say that there's proof you're far enough.. but its done now so that won't help you this time.

If you were in your car you could've fought it cause you're not parkin.. just stopping.

If he's within the signed prohibition areas, he's not far enough no matter what the pictures or his opinion says. Also, in most of the areas, there is not only parking restrictions, but also prohibitions against standing or even stopping. The areas have to be left clear so buses can easily pull in and pull out. A 40-foot or even 70-foot articulated bus is not a Honda. They require space.

that is very true.. but it would make your case a lot easier IF you believe you're not @ fault.. And if there's no standing or stopping, it will usually also state that no stoppin or standing, instead of no parking.
