Should i fight this speeding ticket

Okay, i was driving on this 50 zone, and was appearently going 90. for like 3 secs, just to test out my new transmission. (if that even matters), anyway. i get pulled over by this unmarked vechicle. he told me i was going 40 over, but gave me a 10 over instead. zero points, just a $40 fine. on the ticket he didnt put a reduced markings anywhere. just stated i went 10 over limit. Is it worth fighting this ticket? will my insurance go up that much? i already have another ticket a few months back for going 15 over, on the 401.

Up to you bro. I woold fight every ticket, but it looks like the cop already gave you enough of a break, and I dont think 10 over would affect insurance. Because its no points.

xudeck 07-06-2007 03:27 PM

Yeah, no point fighting this one. You just got lucky with the cop !!! And its 40$ so yeah...no points..no biggie !!

Definitly fight it no doubt about it. Keep your record as clean as possible or the insurance mafia will get their tentacles on you eventually.

wait a minute...you decided to go 90 in a 50...the cop busted you being stupid, then only gave you a ticket for going 10 over even though you deserved 40 over and a big fine, yet you still wanna fight this $40 fine?

You are a ****ing wad. Of course he should fight the ticket. Fight every ticket. I bet if you dumb ass got busted for every single stupid thing you did in your life you would probably be getting raped in your ass doing 25 to life and probably enjoying it. Fight it. Even the parking tickets. **** them

I still say insurance here is like organized crime

brownkaos112 07-25-2007 03:18 PM

of course you should fight it... I see that a lot of ppl say on these forums to just pay it because the cop gave you a break

Umm regardless of whether he reduced it or not, your insurance will got straight up even if no points are involved... Points DONT dictate ur insurance rates, number of tickets convicted do.

So definitely fight every ticket.

I agree, besides if the cop really wanted to give you a break he wouldnt have given you a ticket at all. It's just their hope that you think they are doing you a favour so you pay it. Remember thay are not trying to do you a favour, they are trying to F$%* you. The faster you learn that the better!

why fight a ticket when you have already won man, you got off real lucky

^ It's retards like this guy you shouldn't listen to if you don't want to have to cancel your insurance, because it will be too much for you to afford (with all the convicted tickets). When you get tickets with points, you can take them to court with or without a lawyer (preferably with) and get them reduced to a lighter violation that has 0 points. When you are filing them, make sure you always check the option that says you are going to challenge the officer's evidence, because that is the only way you can hope to get the ticket dropped completely. Basically, if the officer has no evidence at all (which are the notes that he takes when he goes into his car) or you go to trial and challenge his evidence and WIN, then you can drop the charge completely and that is what everyone should try to do! My lawyer and I have done that for 6 of my last 7 driving violation tickets. Not only did we drop the points, we dropped the whole ticket. However, my insurance did still go up because of my one conviction that had 0 points. Points are just a measure of how long you have to keep your license. A G2 license can have 9 points before it is suspended and a G license can have 15. Therefore, ALWAYS FIGHT THE TICKET, ALWAYS CHALLENGE THE EVIDENCE, AND ALWAYS TRY TO GET YOURSELF A REPUTABLE, EXPERIENCED LAWYER! :)
