Ticket in the States

Hey guys,

Just curious if a ticket in the states has any bearing with ontario....ie i got a $185 ticket for speeding and they said that they are gonna suspend my license.....im assuming that means in the states correct?

This all depends on which state you received your ticket in:

HTA Regulation 607, subsection 2......lists 41 states that have agreements with Ontario to have your licence suspended here for failing to pay the fine.

How long it takes to take an effect is another story!

Even if u manage to skip out on the fine, I'd imagine that it won't help you in the future (ie: if you get another ticket again or if Border Patrol gives u a hard time.....but I dont know if they have access to your D.L. info.).

Its a crapshoot either way.

At the very least, you will be a wanted person in Georgia. You do not want to be caught with a default judgement and unpaid fine against you in Georgia, especially if you are a foreigner. They will lock you up until you arrange a significant bond.

Depending on Georgia's reciprocity agreement with other states, you do not want to be stopped in those states either. You could be arrested on the spot and held for transport to Georgia.

Yeah , each state ( hood) has their own little rules.
A buddy of mine got a ticket in south or north carolina . Didnt pay it . 4 yrs later , driving a different car , different ins co, got pulled over in that state for a light out. The unpaid showed up , an he ended up driving into some town with the cop right behind , going to see a j p then to amoney machine to get money to pay fine or go to bucket.
I got one in Virginia for like 50 bucks , I just paid it cause , that state is on my ontario to fla route and I dont like hassles with pigs..77.
